Welcome. We are happy you have taken the time to visit our website. On these pages we would like to share something about our lives together as a community of Carmelite nuns living in the tradition of St. Teresa of Avila.

There are presently some 21 Carmels in Britain each with its own individual feel and way of living the Carmelite charism.

At Thicket we are a happy and forward looking community with our values rooted in the ancient tradition of Carmel. We play an inportant part in the life of our local community and have strong ecumenical links in the area.

Within the next year we will be moving out of our present home into a new purpose-built monastery which has been designed to help us live prayerfully in harmony with the beautiful nature which surrounds us and which minimises our impact on creation.
