Sister Rose Celebrates her Silver Jubilee of Profession as a Carmelite Nun

Thursday, 12 April 2018

Family and friends gathered from near and far on 7th April to celebrate the Silver Jubilee (25 years) of Religious Profession of Sister Rosemary (Rose) of the Trinity, a Carmelite nun at the monastery of Thicket Priory near York.

Since Rose discerned a vocation to join the community, she has gained a reputation as an accomplished musician and maker of handicrafts, including altar linens.

During the Jubilee Mass, which was concelebrated by half-a-dozen priests, the presider, Carmelite friar Fr. Tony Lester, preached about Sister Rose's commitment to Christ in both good and difficult times, of the joy which she brings to her community, and of the good she does for the Church and the world by her life of prayer and service.

During Mass Rose renewed her vows into the hands of the prioress, Sister Mary of Carmel. Among the congregation were the local Anglican vicar, Corpus Christi Carmelite Sisters, Lay Carmelites, Sisters of Mercy, and Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus at the Bar Convent.

Ad multos annos Sister Rose!
