The British Province of Carmelite Friars

Carmelite Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2008

There has always been a special bond between Carmel and Lourdes - the final apparition of Mary to Bernadette took place on 16th July, Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, when Bernadette said that Our Lady "was more beautiful than ever". Today a Monastery of Carmelite Nuns stands on the spot where Bernadette prayed on that day.

The British Province of Carmelites will be making a pilgrimage to Lourdes from 22nd to 29th August 2008, the year when the Church celebrates the Jubilee of the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to Saint Bernadette.

The Carmelites will be joining the Catholic Association Pilgrimage which has over a hundred years' experience of bringing pilgrims to Lourdes, especially those who are sick and disabled. Pilgrims wishing to travel under the Carmelite banner should first read the covering letter from the pilgrimage director and the general brochure from Tangney Tours.

Our pilgrimage is open to a variety of different pilgrims; please follow the links below for the appropriate booking forms.
