Other Expressions of Lay Carmel

In addition to the Lay Carmelites connected with the Order more formally (such as the Third Order and the Secular Institutes), and more informally (such as the Brown Scapular Confraternity), there are a number of Christian groups for the laity that draw inspiration from Carmel, but which are not officially affiliated to it. These can broadly be thought of in terms of the wider Lay Carmelite family.

Enquirers should, of course, be aware that not all groups calling themselves "Carmelite" are necessarily connected with or endorsed by the Order.
