As part of the Catholic Church in England, Wales and Scotland, the British Province of Carmelites gives paramount importance to safeguarding the welfare of its members and those amongst whom they minister, particularly the most vulnerable.

The Province Safeguarding Coordinator is Miss Julie Courtney. The Coordinator advises the Province on matters of good practice in the area of Safeguarding, and is the link between the Province and the Catholic Safeguarding Advisory Service (CSAS).

Safeguarding on the Carmelite Pilgrimage to Lourdes
All helpers on the Carmelite Pilgrimage to Lourdes are expected to comply with the Safeguarding proceedures of the Catholic Association, including the completion of checks by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
